Our Managing Director, Michael Taylor FREC, has worked uniquely in private domestic service for the past 25 years.  His personal experience with domestic staff recruitment, ranges from being a candidate, to dealing with multiple agencies while recruiting for his employers, to working and assisting in building one of London’s most reputable recruitment agencies. This puts Private Domestic Staff in the unique position to understand the needs of our loyal clients and candidates.  We can assist in sourcing and placing the best and most suitable candidates, to ensure long term placement success. As a Fellowship member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, we fully understand the importance of high standards and good practice throughout any recruitment process. Michael’s long career has involved hands on formal Butler service and extensive training given to students from all backgrounds and nationalities.

Since beginning his career in Paris at the British Ambassador’s residence in 1997, Michael went on to spend 15 years as Butler and House Manager with 2 UHNW International families.  His role included organising the service and management of staff within multiple properties in the UK, Switzerland, Austria, France and the Caribbean and organising entertainment for high profile guests including Royalty, Heads of State and Celebrities.  Since moving into Recruitment in 2014, Michael is able to draw on his profound experience and contacts in the private domestic staff world to best assist clients and candidates in their search for exceptional staff or an exciting new position.


Having exclusively worked in the private household sector for over 25 years, gives me and Private Domestic Staff invaluable experience to offer our clients and candidates during their recruitment journey. Michael was awarded the Coronation Medal in 2023 from HM King Charles III for his dedicated service to the Royal Household. Certainly a career high to receive such special recognition.
